Mr. & Mrs.

something blue &

something borrowed;

something new &

and something white.

her family knew

that by tomorrow

her husbands truth

would come to light.

she thought that all her love

could balance out the pain,

but really this white wedding

was only for his gain.

he knew that with a marriage

he could win the game.

he’d earn the title “perfect husband”

& gain some sort of fame.

when suddenly blue bruises

appeared by his own hand.

that something blue was also new,

and given, but not borrowed.

and soon the joyful wedding,

turned into a funeral of sorrow.
