supernova

there were twice as many stars

in the sky that night.

a constellation curated for

my dreams,

and a couple set aside for

us together.

a galaxy for him.

when suddenly the sparkling

night sky was transformed into

the gloomiest of greys.

I wonder if his stars reappeared

as quickly as mine did?

or did they burn out

faster than a supernova?
